One in every 20 children die under the age of 5 in India, and Maternal Mortality Rate is nearly 13 times more than the average of High-Income Countries. In 2016, a two-fold difference in disease burden rate was present between Assam, Uttar Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh being the highest, and Kerala and Goa, the lowest. There is an urgent need to realign strategies to resolve inter-state variations. By leveraging human-centred technology, CKD is working to embed equity in quality healthcare services. We create innovative solutions for good health and well-being, which are compelling, cost-effective and cogent.
UDAAN, funded by Children's Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF) UK, supported a reduction in adolescent pregnancy and early marriage. It adopted a multi-sectoral approach, layering interventions beyond sexual health to change the way adolescent's programmes operate and fundamentally achieve results. The project innovated new techniques and demonstrated scalable strategies that improved adolescent sexual health.
Vriddhi, a flagship programme of United States Agency for International Development (USAID), supports scale-up of high impact Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child and Adolescent Health (RMNCH+A) interventions to prevent child and maternal deaths. As a technical partner to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, Vriddhi set up a programme management unit (PMU) to support the design and implementation of the National Labour Room Quality Improvement Initiative, along with a National RMNCH+A Unit (NRU) to coordinate supervision of various initiatives. It also supports First Referral Units (FRU), the rollout of Family Planning Logistics Management Information Systems (FPLMIS), and Public Financial Management (PFM). Vriddhi partners with 6 state governments to catalyze change, innovate solutions, build collaborative partnerships, and contribute to policy.

Supported by Dasra, the programme provides techno-managerial support to Dasra Adolescent Collective (DAC), partners to deepen their engagement with National Health Mission, Jharkhand. It helps strengthen platforms such as Adolescent Health Days (AHDs), monitoring implementation, prototyping solutions, and developing guidelines streamlining the AHDs. This will ensure broader coverage and reach among the target population. The project is currently demonstrating pilot interventions.
Norway India Partnership Initiative (NIPI) tests innovative solutions in maternal and new-born care to reduce preventable deaths and child mortality rates in India. The program introduced various interventions such as Sick New Born Care Units and a program of Home-Based New-born Care. In its third phase, NIPI works in Bihar, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Jammu, Kashmir and Odisha.
In partnership with George Washington University, the RANI Project, funded by BMGF, promoted changes in social norms, knowledge, attitudes, and behaviours of women of reproductive age and pregnant women in Odisha that increased IFA supplement consumption and reduction in anaemia.
Sustainable Access to Markets and Resources for Innovative Delivery of Healthcare (SAMRIDH) supports India's response to COVID-19 and other emerging healthcare needs for the most vulnerable. Supported by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Indian Institute of Technology-Delhi (IIT-D) in technical collaboration with the National Health Authority (NHA). SAMRIDH aims to mobilize a capital pool of $100+ million from the private sector and bilateral organisations.
