Sumita, a senior analyst at IPE-CKD, is a development professional with five years of experience in working on RMNCH+A in the underdeveloped areas of Uttar Pradesh in the capacity of a Divisional Technical Consultant, Nutrition, UNICEF, UP. With the primary focus on maternal and child health and nutrition, she has closely worked with the six nodal departments namely ICDS, Health, Panchayati Raj Institution (PRI), Education and Rural Development and Food and Civil Supplies, for ensuring efficient convergence under Poshan Abhiyan. She has monitored technical programs like Mothers absolute affection (MAA), Weekly Iron Folic Acid Supplementation (WIFS/ NIPI), Infant and Young Child Feeding (IYCF), Poshan Abhiyan and also engaged in quality assessment, capacity building and handholding support to Nutrition Rehabilitation Centers (NRCs), including training and capacity building of Medical Officers, Staff Nurses, ASHAs and AWWs on IYCF practices and Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative (BHFI) focusing on breastfeeding practices including early initiation and complementary feeding at divisional, district and block level. These technical skills and implementation expertise is dedicated to her Masters in Social Work with specialization in Public Health from Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai. She has good experience of qualitative research and has submitted a dissertation on the LGBTQ community as well. She has also worked on the Corporate TB Pledge program and facilitated the development of a Best Practice Compendium and an online platform to digitally service the corporates at IPE Global Ltd.
