Project Astitva, an initiative by the Centre for Knowledge & Development (CKD) in partnership with UNFPA India, is being implemented across Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, and Odisha in close collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. The initiative focuses on strengthening the implementation of the Adolescent Health and Wellness Programme (AHWP), Family Planning (FP), and Gender-Based Violence (GBV) Response.
At its core, Project Astitva advances adolescent sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) through a gender-transformative, rights-based, and evidence-informed approach. It works towards building the capacity of key stakeholders, strengthening service delivery systems, and fostering inclusive and adolescent-friendly environments.
By addressing these critical areas, the project promotes overall well-being, gender equity, and informed decision-making among adolescents and young people, contributing to healthier and more empowered communities.
The project, supported by UNFPA, aims to expand the government’s School Health and Wellness Programme (SHWP) reach to ensure that even the most vulnerable adolescents are well-equipped for the future. The project also strives to improve access to relevant government services and schemes. With a focus on innovation and inclusivity, Project Astitva is committed to ensuring no adolescent is left behind in Rajasthan.
