Livelihood & Employability

A country with a promising demographic dividend India still stands at the cusp of opportunity and challenge. Ranked 140 th among 156 nations, in the World Economic Forum 2021 Gender Gap Report, India has a declining female workforce participation (17.5 percent, compared to 55.5 percent of men, PLFS 2018-2019). At CKD, we are working along the catalytic crossroads of a girl's journey from home to work, in tandem with governments and communities. We strive to translate bold ideas into reality and ensure gender-transformative and resolute return on our inputs with the aim for girls to access decent, green, and aspirational jobs.

CKD proudly leverages the knowledge and experience of IPE Global Limited's pioneering work.

Manzil

Empowering Adolescent Girls through Vocational and Life Skills

Manzil, a Children’s Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF), funded project, reduces child marriage and early pregnancies amongst adolescent girls (both in school and out of school) by ensuring their effective transition into the workforce in six districts of Rajasthan. The project empowers girls with skills and income opportunities and addresses regressive social norms at the community level that hinder women’s participation in the workforce.

supporting industry linkages and captive placements for youth

Supported by Asian Development Bank, project assisted Government of Meghalaya to mobilize and train youth skills at par with international standards and place them with leading companies across India. It also transformed 500 youth into successful entrepreneurs with sustainable livelihoods in Meghalaya – by providing market-based orientation for developing business-plans, doing technical and financial feasibility analysis, establishing forward and backward linkages and building capacities to help set up enterprises.
