PROJECT SASHAKT 2.0

Empowering Women and Girls with Knowledge on Health and Nutrition in Ganjam, Odisha

Improving Convergence of Adolescent Health and Well-being Programs in Uttar Pradesh

In the heart of Uttar Pradesh, Project Utthan is nurturing a generation of healthier, more confident adolescents who are finally finding the courage to dream and decide their own futures. Since 2024, Project Utthan, in partnership with the National Health Mission (NHM), UP, has been working across Barabanki, Bareilly, and Sonbhadra to transform systems, strengthen capacities, and shape policies to create an enabling ecosystem for adolescent well-being.
Supported by GAIL Gas Ltd., Project Sashakt 2.0 is on a mission to break the intergenerational cycle of anaemia, turning a history of fatigue into a future of resilience across six Gram Panchayats in the Beguniapada and Ganjam blocks.
Self-Help Groups, youth clubs, and schools have become changemakers, equipping women and adolescents to make healthier choices through more than 30 awareness meetings, street plays, and vibrant wall paintings. Over 400 women learned to prepare balanced, locally inspired meals through Trianga Thali demonstrations, and 150 Nutri-gardens now bloom across homes and community spaces, ensuring sustainable access to iron-rich foods. School-based sessions nurtured healthy habits early in life, while 15 anaemia testing camps reached more than 2,500 people, offering counselling, nutrition packs, and needed referrals.
To mark its success and community impact, Project Sashakt 2.0 held a special “Key Achievements, Awards, and Recognition” event on August 7 2025, graced by Shri Keerthi Vasan V, IAS, Collector & District Magistrate, Ganjam, alongside the CDMO, NRLM representatives, frontline workers (ASHA, ANM, AWW), and community beneficiaries — a celebration of collective effort and resilience.
Concluding in September 2025, Project Sashakt 2.0 leaves behind a stronger, more informed Ganjam — where women and adolescents stand empowered to lead healthier lives, and where every meal holds the promise of a brighter, anaemiafree future.
